Huh,now we know what its called , as we have a cache at end of our property and used to wonder what people were up to. Then one day I found the cache , signed the book and left a band aid in it :) So now might join the organisation , sounds like bit of fun when on a trip .
I decided to check this out on the net as a couple have just been to the cache , van towing caravan.Good Luck everyone :D

It is not about the treasure. It is about getting out of the car, and having a look around and learn about the area the cache is located

I used to go Geocaching all the time, mostly here in the Toronto area, but also when I lived in Thailand, and even on road trips through the U.S. My son is only 2 right now, but I plan to get him into this soon as an outdoor adventure he can enjoy, and keep him active. I know it's not athletic, but it's better than video games.

We do it with our two kids and are planning on buying a tagged item from geocach website and deposit it in a geocach site in my home town, Australia and track it as it (hopefully) winds it's way to Toronto, Canada. You can geocach and travel. Great for kids.

I love geocaching!! Except, as I partner it with my other favorite pastime, I call it "Jeepocaching!"

This sounds like a very cool idea for kids; I could totally imagine doing this with my 7 year old cousin. I wonder what I'd put in my canister....

Hmm, might be a challenge for the directionally impaired. Kinda reminds me of the trinkets left in the knot of the tree in To Kill a Mockingbird, despite requiring a bit more work. Overall, very cool concept though!

Think you'll be leaving some caches while you travel around the world, Julia?
Definitely worth it for loyal fans.
