Maldives is surely on my list of places to visit in a year or two. I have seen so many pictures and as a beach lover, I would want to experience this.

Really? I've been living here for years, but the above is news. Maybe you've fallen into the trap on political marketing. Have a look at Dr. Nils Axel Morner's point of view on the "doomsday, we will all drown" scenario, he's one fellow who should know better than all of us:

This was a very intriguing angle on a beautiful destination. When you mentioned the price of a roomer night, a thought flashed through my head that perhaps its worth every cent as its an experience that may be soon lost. Great reporting, thanks for the thoughts.

It is completely non-commercial (no ads, no selling, no sponsors), but is pretty much the definitive resource on the Maldives resorts.
